KILLSWITCH ENGAGE guitarist Adam Dutkiewicz and ex-singer Howard Jones are still in discussions with record labels about their collaborative project, BURN ETERNAL. In a recent interview, Adam revealed that the album is ready, but no release date has been set yet. He also mentioned that the project is just between him and Howard, and the sound is a blend of their individual styles, similar to KILLSWITCH ENGAGE. The album's production has been ongoing for over two years, with the final mixing completed in December 2024. Howard's involvement in the project came about when he approached Adam with the idea of writing music for him. This marks a significant turn in Howard's career after his departure from KILLSWITCH ENGAGE in 2012, during which he battled manic depression and bipolar disorder. He later formed DEVIL YOU KNOW, a new band that received positive reviews for its albums 'The Beauty Of Destruction' and 'They Bleed Red'. Howard's mental health struggles were discussed in a 2016 interview, where he shared his journey of realizing the severity of his condition and finding help. Despite his personal challenges, Howard's return to music was driven by a desire to venture out and overcome his agoraphobia. He expressed his passion for music and the joy of reconnecting with it after a period of absence. The BURN ETERNAL project is a testament to Howard's resilience and his ongoing musical endeavors, even after his departure from KILLSWITCH ENGAGE.
