In an exciting shake-up for local sports radio, Bonneville’s “Sactown Sports 1140” (https://sactownsports.com/) in Sacramento is introducing brand new midday and afternoon programming starting on Monday, January 12.
The current host of the midday slot, Allen Stiles, will transition to the afternoon lineup, teaming up with Kevin ‘Whitey’ Gleason for a show named “The Drive Guys,” which will air from 2 PM to 6 PM. Stiles, who joined KHTK in October 2023, originally partnered with Chris Watkins to take over when Gleason moved to the afternoons. Before his current role, Stiles had experience at KGMZ in San Francisco and with TuneIn. Whitey Gleason has been a prominent figure in Sacramento radio since 1989, having been associated mainly with “The Rise Guys” first on 93.7 and then on 98.5 KRXQ. He was part of KHTK from 1999 until 2011 before the show relocated to San Francisco. Gleason later returned to the Sacramento market to co-host afternoons on “ESPN 1320” KCTC from 2014 to 2019, making his comeback to KHTK in July 2023 (see more at https://radioinsight.com/headlines/254411/whitey-watkins-take-over-middays-at-khtk/).
Joining the station for the midday segment are Matt George and Kayla Anderson. Matt George is making a return to KHTK, where he began his career after working at KXTV-TV and launching the Locked on Kings podcast. He has been involved with KHTK for six years, serving as a fill-in host and covering the Sacramento Kings, while also hosting the Locked on Kings podcast since 2017.
Kayla Anderson comes on board after recently co-hosting the morning show at Cumulus Media’s “104.5 The Zone” WGFX in Nashville until she left in May 2023 (for details, check https://radioinsight.com/headlines/300531/kayla-anderson-exits-wgfxs-ramon-kayla-will/). Before her time at WGFX, Anderson worked as a sports anchor and reporter across various cities including Nashville, Columbus, Spokane, Missoula, and Tucson.
