Imagine being targeted not once, but twice, by the same individual. That's the reality for a victim in Sault Ste. Marie, where a 50-year-old man now faces serious charges. Let's break down what happened.
On December 12th, the victim was reportedly pushed to the ground and robbed. Just two days later, the same victim was targeted again, this time punched and robbed near Albert Street East and Abbott Street. Fortunately, no physical injuries were reported in either incident. Interestingly, the police have stated that the victim and the accused were known to each other.
Yesterday, the police arrested Jasen Hansen, also 50 years old. He's now facing multiple charges, including:
- Two counts of Robbery
- Two counts of Failure to Comply with a Probation Order
But here's where it gets controversial: The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing. It's important to remember that, in the eyes of the law, Hansen is presumed innocent until proven guilty in court. All the allegations against him have yet to be tested.
What do you think about the fact that the victim and the accused knew each other? Do you think this changes the situation? Share your thoughts in the comments!
